What is Proofreading?
Proofreading is a revision of grammatical, spelling, punctuation, and style errors as well as inconsistencies that might have occurred throughout previous stages of editing. This is the last phase of the editing process.
What does this service include?
- A full in-depth read through of your manuscript.
- Last minute misspellings, incorrect/missed punctuation, inconsistencies, etcetera, that might have occurred in previous stages of editing and that might have been missed thus far.
- The revisions are marked on Microsoft Word Track Changes.
How many proofreading projects do I book per month?
Two. I only work on 2 proofreading projects every month. I only accept manuscripts that I haven’t read before.
If interested, request an estimate now.
How much does it cost?
Proofreading costs $30 per hour. If, for example, you request an estimate for a proofread of a 350 page novel, I will provide you with an approximate charge for the total amount of hours that I assess will be necessary to complete the work. However, this amount can be more or less depending on how much time I actually take to do so. The exact quantity of hours will be given to you in an invoice once work has been completed.
